Wireless charger USB plugs under armrest faulty?

Recommended Posts

Hi all. My A4 B9 Avant has the built in wireless charger and USB ports under the centre arm rest. I think it may be faulty, if you use the wireless charger (iPhone later models) are slow to charge and get really hot! Something not right there!

carplay is enabled through the USB ports but having tried numerous cables it randomly disconnects the phone. Seems worse when it is warm. When it does this the phone doesn’t even charge through the cable.

Does anyone know if the USB ports are separate from the wireless charger unit. Are they prone to faults?

thanks in advance for any help/comments.

Not sure if they're connected. I guess one way to check if it's not working properly is doing a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up.

The laptop is on charge 👌

did a bit of googling and the usb ports are a separate unit going for £120 used for what is essentially a usb hub! It will be coming apart and I’ll have a trawl through my computer parts 🤣
