Hi

I am a new member.
I have just had timing chain and cambelt changed on my 2006 plate 2.0FSI Quattro and now I have this error. P0011. I have a cheapy OBD reader that says it is something to do with the cam timing.
Can anyone add any useful information?

I will take the car back to the mechanic but just wondering if anybody else has had this.

Thanks.
I am taking it back today.
The car drives fine. I would have expected it to be lumpy or difficult to start.

Had a phone call Friday. They cannot find the problem.
He has ordered a second cam chain kit because he thinks the first replacement is faulty.
only other thing left is the cam position sensor.
I will keep you posted.

Hi Steve Q

Finally got the car back today.
Not sure what the part is called but it is a round housing with a gear which moves the timing chain through oil pressure and therefore the cam timing.
Although the car has only done 75000 mls it is quite old so I guess new chain and cambelt just disturbed it.
Anyway, ok now. The mechanic I take it to is a really good guy. Hasn’t charged me any more than the original job. After we are sure it is ok I will offer him at least the part cost.

Sorry, I have replied to this post elsewhere.

I stopped to think about what we had done. We changed all the associated parts and still the same.
I thought, well the car learns about things and the cam chain has worn over time so the ECU was happy with that. Now it had a new chain the ECU does not understand the cam advance. Although the mechanic reset whatever he had to by software it didn’t help

I crossed everything and pulled the ECU fuse, went and had a cup of tea and came back put tje fuse back snd no EM light since (3 weeks now)
