Jim Cook Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Hi all. Loving my Audi but now the Autobox is leaking oil. Are they any common issues (2013 2.0 tdi). Spoke to two Audi specialists local 1 said he will get it in and look to see whats wrong. The other just said they wont touch it and needs to go to gearbox specialists.
Jim Cook Posted June 3, 2024 Author Posted June 3, 2024 Im hoping so. Finally got a garage to put it up on the ramp to see where its coming from.

Jim Cook Posted June 4, 2024 Author Posted June 4, 2024 Finally managed to find a garage willing to put the A6 on a ramp. Turns out its the cooler pipe thats leaking. So next question wheres the best place to get replacement pipes (oil pipes not water) maybe even cooler as well?.
cliffcoggin Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Having found a garage willing to look at the car it would be worth cultivating them by letting them do the repair. 1
Jim Cook Posted June 4, 2024 Author Posted June 4, 2024 When i first spoke to him he was busy. But after his friend never got intouch he opened up his garage early to look at my car and will be using him fir doing that for me.
Jim Cook Posted June 10, 2024 Author Posted June 10, 2024 Car fixed. i was lucky it was a cooler pipe that burst. Had to buy a 2nd hand cooler and pipes from eBay only £50. Couldnt get the pupe i need and was told they werent sure when it would be in stock.
Levant0s Posted Tuesday at 02:06 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:06 PM I had a similar leak and it turned out to be a worn valve cover gasket. Cleaned the area first to spot the fresh oil trail, which helped pinpoint the leak.
Levant0s Posted yesterday at 01:07 PM Posted yesterday at 01:07 PM (edited) I had a similar issue with stubborn oil leaks and ended up needing better access underneath to check everything properly. I grabbed a car hoist through www.astrolift.co.nz, which made the inspection way easier than crawling around with a jack and stands. Being able to safely raise the whole car really helped me spot where the oil was dripping from and clean it all up before fixing the gasket. Edited yesterday at 01:07 PM by Levant0s
