A8 2.5TDI ECU Problem

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody.

Yesterday I was going for a ride in my Audi A8 and the car wouldn't start, I noticed a yellow light on the instrument panel, according to the manual there would be traction control (ASR).

The i connect my Ross Tech cable and VCDS to try to see the error codes, to my surprise the VCDS doesn't detect my ECU, which means it must be a faulty ECU.

I have another ECU to try it from an Audi A6 with the same engine and same year, but I know it is necessary to reprogram it due to the immobilizer.

To do this I need to have the pin code of both ECU's, does anyone know how I can read the PIN Code for both ECUs?

Or if anyone has had this problem and it wouldn't really be the ECU?

Hi are you sure your VCDS is up to date as as when it can't connect to the car at all it normally throws up Can gateway unable to communicate.
