WhisperingAl
Hi Please excuse this long quote. I am fairly old and no longer able to clamber about fixing cars. I recently bought an ‘06 A4 Quattro 2.0tfsi. Although it is old it has only done 75000. I decided to have the cam belt and chain changed as the chain rattled. I used a mechanic I have used many times before and he is great. After doing the work the EM light came on. He checked everything he had done, found no problems so changed the cam adjuster. Still got the light. I changed the solenoid/valve as it is easy, no different. I changed the cam position sensor, still no different. We are both stumped now. This was probably going to be my final car and I absolutely love it after my last old car. I am desperate for any help or maybe a recommended tech in North Surrey. Thanks for teading. Steve Q
I think you might need a second opinion. But the light could come on even if the timing is out by 1 tooth.
Solution WhisperingAl Posted July 3 Author Solution Share Posted July 3 Thanks for the reply. the mechanic I am using has been excellent over the years with other cars and he has taken the covers off and checked again and says it is ok. I will ask him again. The cam adjuster is on a spring. I am wondering if you need to turn the adjuster and then put the chain on. There are many posts all over the internet with the same problem but I cannot find one with a fix.
