ChrisHorris Posted July 8 Posted July 8 Hi all, I’ve recently got a A3 8PA and I’m looking for a head unit - very simplistic one. i can’t seem to find any that fit - does anyone know if it’s possible in this model variant and any recommendations?
Magnet Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Welcome Chris, and thanks for joining. Could you let us know whether you are looking to replace the original (Concert-I think) set up with something different, or don’t you currently have anything fitted? Kind regards, Gareth.
leythdave Posted August 3 Posted August 3 I have just purchased a single din android/apple play unit, to replace the Audi one off eBay.
Magnet Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Many thanks Dave, Shame the OP Chris never bothered to clarify his situation. 1
ChrisHorris Posted August 5 Author Posted August 5 Hi all, Sorry for the delay! I’m looking for an Android one yeah to replace the Concert. Theres so many, but I just don’t know which one will work and which harness or wiring setup to use with them. I don’t want to do custom splicing and etc 😄 Would appreciate any links or kits people may have used
cliffcoggin Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Chris. I looked into doing exactly that a few years ago, but eventually did not order anything because all of what was available at the time required me to cut and join wires without clear instructions. 1
Rybrook Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Do you have the half amplified or bose system? I have the non bose and found a fitting kit with looms and facia adapter for £20 odd on eBay.
leythdave Posted August 12 Posted August 12 (edited) How do we know if it’s Bose or not? Edited August 12 by leythdave Incorrect spelling

ChrisHorris Posted August 22 Author Posted August 22 Amazing info thanks Rybrook, I have the Bose one. Do you think an Xtrons will fit that harness ?

Those 2 links seems to be for the same product - the half amplified :)
Rybrook Posted August 22 Posted August 22 Sorry hopefully this is correct. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185943774032?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=g_UaOp-ZS5a&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=jXAV2kTOQHK&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY If the xtrons has a standard iso loom then it will work
BiGaDtHeBiGlAd Posted August 22 Posted August 22 leythdave you can tell if it's a Bose system by the 2x 6x9's in the near side boot panel 1
leythdave Posted August 25 Posted August 25 I think I may have solved the problem in a fashion. Separate Apple car play unit mounted to the dash with an FM transmitter using the stereo system. Would this work?
Rybrook Posted August 25 Posted August 25 It will work if you want to keep the car original, fm transmitters are a bit naff. 1
