Pete26 Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Hello, can anyone help with a failed driver side indicator on the wing mirror please. I understand the mirror glass needs to be removed but not too sure how to do it without breaking the glass. I wouldn’t be too concerned but the mot is due. thanks
coupe4 Posted August 17 Posted August 17 hi pete yes the glass needs to be removed and some small screws to remove the cowl, its fiddly and a delicate job but can be done easily, check out a you tube video before you start.Greg
Solution Pete26 Posted August 17 Author Solution Posted August 17 Thank you. I have sorted it now thanks. The trick is to remove the glass which is stuck to a plastic backing which hold the heating element. I used a sucker to help pull the glass whilst gently prizing the mirror forward using a plastic prise tool. The mirror housing clips into place which must also be prised off using plastic prise tool. There are 4 lugs which need to be released and one Torx screw holding the indicator Ken’s in place . It’s fiddly but the mirror dies come away with some persuasion. 1
