ajdoo Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Hello everybody I have a 2007 A3 1.9 TDI BLS with 288000 km. I replaced the clutch kit 20 000 km ago but since 2 weeks I have a problem when releasing clutch pedal. I hear a weird click sound when releasing clutch just at the beginning. If I do it very slowly I do not hear anything. Car runs, drives and shifts gears completly normally, but this click sound is driving me crazy. Some people say it is normal for these cars, some say it is a release bearing, some say I can keep driving like this and nothing will happen and some even say that their car broke down shortly after this noise appeared. I would appreciate it if someone could help. Thx✌️
cliffcoggin Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Aid. The click is not normal, but exactly what causes it depends on how much you disturbed when replacing the clutch. The possibilities I can think of are: 1/ Loose master cylinder nuts. 2/ Insecure hydraulic hose between master and slave cylinders. 3/ Loose slave cylinder nuts. 4/ Incorrectly fitted release bearing. 5/ Incorrectly fitted release lever. There may be other causes I have not thought of, so let us wait for other opinions.
