R Phillips Posted August 21 Posted August 21 I am looking for power steering hoses full set if possible for my Audi Quattro 8N3 2003, Some available from Audi but crazy prices. Aftermarket has very limited options if any. May have to have them made any suggestions
Magnet Posted August 21 Posted August 21 Welcome Roger, The good news is, they are at least available from your dealer. Many have found they aren’t, and have no option but to get new ones made. Worth doing a search on here for similar posts on this topic, since that may well give you a lead to companies who will manufacture to your pattern. I think this will be your best option unless eBay Continent shows any. Worth trying commercial vehicle hydraulic specialists if getting them made up. Let us know how you get on Roger. Kind regards, Gareth.
R Phillips Posted August 21 Author Posted August 21 Hi Gareth, limited parts available from the dealer, I have found some on eBay and purchased those so lets see if they fit. As you say other than that find a company who will make from a pattern. 1
Magnet Posted August 21 Posted August 21 Just of a matter of interest Roger, had you looked on eBay before you posted? Kind regards, Gareth.
R Phillips Posted August 21 Author Posted August 21 I had and contacted the local Audi dealer as well as a company in Germany who could not help unfortunately. I was reluctant to try eBay but it really was my only option. Parts arriving Fri / Sat will let you know if they fit.
R Phillips Posted August 21 Author Posted August 21 Problem started with back pressure and the RAC and Garage have said Power steering pump failed and new reservoir. I have looked under the car when on a ramp and all I can see is fluid the garage thinks that we should change the hoses! However as they haven't cleaned the fluid away I am not 100% convinced there is a hose leak? So if we fit the new hoses I've ordered and the pump and reservoir? Or is there a way to pressurise the system to see if there is leaking hose?
audia4b5kev Posted August 21 Posted August 21 GET SOME TFR AND CLEAN IT HAVE PROPER CLEAN AS MITE JUST BE PIPE ON PUMP LEEKING 1
Magnet Posted August 22 Posted August 22 Any particular aversion for eBay Roger? I think there is a high % of motorists who treat this as probably giving the greatest choice of parts you will find anywhere - both (majority) new and secondhand. Kind regards, Gareth.
R Phillips Posted August 22 Author Posted August 22 Not really but having been in the Automotive Industry all my life I like to deal with a local company and discuss the problem and the solution. Having been involved with a number of leading OEM and Aftermarket companies in the UK and Europe I like to support these sources first.
Magnet Posted August 22 Posted August 22 Understand Roger, but I think you will find most of your local motor factors operate via. eBay as well.
