Cp13 Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 (edited) Hi Thanks for letting me join I have a 4 door 2.0T A3 S-line petrol model, 80,000 miles on clock which has a noticeable vibration starting at 68 mph. The car tracks straight and doesn’t seem to have other vices. TIA 🙂 Edited September 3, 2024 by Cp13
cliffcoggin Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 Gordon. The most likely cause is the wheels being unbalanced. Get this checked at a tyre shop before looking for other causes.
Cp13 Posted September 3, 2024 Author Posted September 3, 2024 Hello Cliff Thanks 🙂 I had a thought this might be the case In closing, what mpg should I expect from the 2 litre engine I think its 200 hp
cliffcoggin Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 Gordon. Just to add, even if the wheels were balanced when the tyres were fitted, pot holes and kerb climbing can dislodge the weights. If balancing does not solve the problem we need to investigate elsewhere. Although I had a 2 litre diesel A3 2007 until three years ago I don't really remember what the fuel consumption was. I recall it was typical for its type and not unduly thirsty, but beyond that I do not know. In any case a car's consumption always depends on how it is driven and on what roads. 1
