Audi 90E - 1991

My father has owned a 1991 Audi 90E, since new and unfortunately is no longer able to drive. He has asked me to dispose of the vehicle for him but I have been unable to establish what the vehicle is worth. There seem to be very few for sale. The mileage is 89,000 and the vehicle has been garaged since new, with an MOT until Dec24. I have approached a couple of motor traders but they have not been interested. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. I was trying to avoid selling on eBay.

Kevin.

I imagine the market for such an old car is very small, unless it has some significant history such as a famous owner or the winning of a rally for examples. That two traders are uninterested seems to confirm its lack of appeal, so eBay is the only thing I can suggest that will reach a wide market, but be prepared for a nasty shock at how little money you will get for it there.

Hello Kevin,

As Cliff says - eBay is a good place to start listing the car - under Classic Cars category.
Start it off on a low start, and see how it goes. Worth stating that it is advertised elsewhere and can be withdrawn.
Also worth advertising in Classic Car Weekly ( probably under ‘offers’ which I don’t like!). I think there is also a publication ‘Modern Classics’ so again worth a go.
Motor traders wouldn’t be interested, but worth searching eBay - again under Classic Cars, and picking out sales by Classic car specialists and contact them.
Let us know how you get on Kevin.

Kind regards,

Gareth.

Hi Kev

Thanks for your message, to be honest I don't have a clue what money to expect for it. I have attached some photos, condition is good except for some damage on rear bumper, small scratch on front passenger door and a little dink on the rear passenger door.

Thanks

Kevin

Thanks again Kevin.

Do a search on eBay under ‘classic Cars’, and I think you should come up with a ball park figure. Of course, don’t expect to find an example which completely matches yours, but….

Worth looking at ‘Competed items’ ( button selection will be bottom left on screen) under the same search. This will reinforce what has sold at what price, and what hasn’t sold.
Perhaps you could let us know how you get on

Kind regards,

Gareth.
