Bonnet not shut correctly / wipers not working

Hello all

new owner of a 2016 1.4 tfsi. Had a strange occurrence. Bonnet not being closed fully was showing the door open symbol. But weirdly the windscreen wipers didn’t work only on  the automatic settings when the bonnet was not closed right.Just needed a good bonnet slam. The bonnet weighs a ton so I didn’t want to be brutal with it. Just in case anyone else gets this fault

Checking if bonnet isn’t fully closed is always the first check if wipers are not working, but thanks for reinforcing that.

You should not need to be brutal with the bonnet or even slam it hard. If it can not be secured by lowering gently then pressing above the latch, it needs adjustment to the latch.
