A3 Satnav Update

I bought a used (2020) A3 12 months ago. I have been trying ever since to get the satnav SD card updated.

The correspondence with Audi, boils down to them saying that the car was specified without Satnav update, and therefor, I cannot get an update. The only solution offered is a new SD card, which when loaded, will cost £500. 

Any suggestions please.

Buy a complete Garmin or TomTom satnav for a fraction of the SD card price. They come with lifetime updates.
