Hello Guys,

Have couple of engine warning lights on and vehicle . Got the diagnostics done and here is the report. Audi has quoted £ 4100 to fix it which is shocking for me . Please can someone advise if this cost is right and also do I have to carry out all these fixes ?

I want to keep the spend to minimum as as plan to sell the car in 1-2 months

Renewal of EGR Cooler and DPF system repairs

Investigate EML light on dash. Start stop fault, drive system fault, DPF blocked fault.

Following our award winning 15 stage assessment procedure we carried out the following test:
-Carried out a short road test and confirmed the EML is on and the vehicle is in limp mode. Carried out a fault scan, faults are stored for the DPF (P200200 Particulate Trap Bank 1 Efficiency Below Threshold and P246300 Particulate Filter Restriction - Soot Accumulation Bank 1) Carried out a search for any technical bulletins and there are several bulletins for this fault. Carried out the DPF doctor checks and confirmed the DPF is blocked and the pressure sensor is out calibration the actual and live data do not match. The DPF requires cleaning then a forced regeneration, the exhaust and dpf pressure sensors also require replacing and the air filter is dirty, also recommend replacing this. Once the DPF regen has been carried out an oil and filter change is required.

Followed the Bulletins and carried out a check of the low pressure EGR valve/cooler, these are known for blocking and causing the DPF to block. Monitored the live data of the air mass and activated the low pressure EGR valve, the airmass should change by at least 5 mg/s, on this vehicle it only changes by 2, this indicates the low pressure EGR cooler is blocked, a new low pressure egr valve and cooler is also required.

Once the valve and cooler has been replaced and the DPF cleaned we will then need to carry out another road test and check the boost pressure, due to the DPF being so blocked we were unable to get the vehicle of out limp mode, so we were unable to carry out all of the relevant checks.

(Due to finding the above fault with the vehicle we are unable to go any further into our investigation without carrying out this repair, We hope that this repair will be the end of your issue, however we need to make you aware there is a very small chance that further faults may be found after this repair has been carried out, but as this system is critical to the vehicle correct operation we can’t confirm until the repair is done. Of course, we will update you if this is the case.
