Brought myself a clean A3 from a friend with a few known issues. One of the issues is the Quattro isn’t working (stuck in FWD) I stripped the Haldex controller down this afternoon and it’s suffered from water ingress. It’s a right mess inside so I’ll need this one reconditioning. I’m getting code 01324 and 00448. My question is, should my ESP light not be on to let me know of the fault? It doesn't even come on when the ignition key is turned over doing its dash light checks. I’ve checked all fuses which are fine, no tape on the dash to cover the LED, I’m stumped. Any advice appreciated.

I have a similar problem, I have an intermittent no communication with the haldex controller, I noticed mine work the other day in an uneven gravel car park when the rear wheel spun.

The esp light does not come on unless it detects loss of traction or there is an abs fault.
