Leomcph03 Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Hello everyone, S3 8P 2012, Left headlight dipped, full beam, and DRLs not working. Indicator works fine. (Power is getting to the headlight it seems) Ive replaced the D3S bulb but still nothing, I’ve checked fuses in the car dash, and in the engine bay, all are fine. What could be my issue here?
cliffcoggin Posted October 7 Posted October 7 If power is getting to the light fitting I would check if the power can also get out again i.e. check the earth.

Hi as cliff says its either a bad live/earth the indicator will still work as thats a separate circuit ie 2 lives 2 earths my guess is that one of the earths inside the female plug that fits on to the headlight is burnt or corroded. Steve.

Steve. Hello, thanks for your help. I’ll pull the head light out and have a look. what’s the most simple solution if that is the problem?

Hi unfortunately the solution requires you to buy another plug [available from eBay ] and get ready for a serious soldering festival, alternatively you might get away with a good dose of contact cleaner.
