Mario T Posted October 18 Posted October 18 Hi All, My A4 cab has developed and issue. When you open the driver's door the window barely drops now. It used to drop a good 5-7mm to clear the fabric roof. The passengers side is fine. There are intermittent times where the glass doesn't drop at all. There doesn't seem to be too much info on this and wondered if anyone has had the same issue. Would it be the switch in the door handle, the motor or the window regulator.? I did change the regulator 18 months ago and that was fine till very recently. I've seen lots of not dropping or not going up or down but the window opening and closing is fine Thanks Maz
Magnet Posted October 18 Posted October 18 Thanks Mario, Regulator replaced with a main dealer part? Kind regards, Gareth.
Mario T Posted October 19 Author Posted October 19 MMmmm no euro car parts. I can't decide if the switch in the door handle is faulty and not passing enough current maybe. The pulley cable has stretched or the motor/ teeth have worn?
Mario T Posted October 19 Author Posted October 19 I wonder if there is a worm gear that could be worn in motor unit?
Magnet Posted October 19 Posted October 19 Thanks Mario, Regrettably, only you or your mechanic can investigate to find the actual problem. Why did you need to replace the part? Kind regards, Gareth. 1
Mario T Posted October 19 Author Posted October 19 The window regulator cable had broken so more for the standard reason to replace if you see what I mean. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced a similar issue with too small a drop
