Hi All,

I suspect this is a simple answer but wondered has anybody else changed the rear springs on their convertible? I ask as I notice that mine sits lower at the rear albeit level. Now I appreciate it has all the weight of the mechanism for the roof in the rear. Is this just a case of the springs being old.? They aren't fractured as I've checked.

Any help/experience would be appreciated

Thankyou

Hello Mario,

We are going to need more information  - such as:-

Has it always been like this during your ownership ( how long is that)?
Do you know if these springs have been replaced?
How low is low?
Measure from wheel centres to the underside of the wheel arches for each wheel, with the car parked on level ground.

Kind regards,

Gareth.

Ah right 2 years + pretty much always been like it although it does seem to feel a bit worse IMO

I can send a photo. I've seen a few like it on my travels. I just wondered if I got the springs replaced if it would add a bit of height.

Mario - please measure at all 4 wheels for us please.

Many thanks.

OK,

Seems it needs a new pair of springs, but you have to be doubly sure you get the correct ones.
Way forward:-

Try LLL Parts website to obtain the correct Audi Part number.
Search eBay under that part number. Aim for a reputable make such as Febi or Monroe etc.

Would be worthwhile checking Parts in Motion website by inputting your registration number.
Last point - please let us know how you get on.

Kind regards,

Gareth.

Thanks Magnet, I genuinely felt the photo explained my point. I also didn't have a tape at that point so wanted to give context to my question.

I will get onto it. Along with my the driver's window when opened only drops 2-3mm not the full say 10mm

It makes me wonder if the waring springs have been fitted at some point or of poor quality which is why you've got issues. But even with front measurements they're not even either.

Ive seen quite a few like it. I wouldn't say mine was.much worse. For the price of them I may as well change them.
