Alan from Bury Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Took delivery of a new A3 saloon 4 weeks ago. I previously posted on this forum about radio favourites not saving but after the dealer restoring factory settings , this has been resolved( so far!). There are a couple of other irritants about the system: I have read that the traffic sign speed warning can be switched off but it reverts to "on" when the next journey starts. I find this feature irritating with the constant bongs when I go 2 mph above 30 for example. The other one is the lane departure warning which produces vibration in the steering wheel which I find a bit disconcerting. Is there a way to permanently switch off these two features?
dalswinton Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Hi Alan, I bought a new q3 4 weeks ago. on mine, you can switch the lane departure off, by pressing a switch at the end of the indicator stalk. you have to do this every time you go to pull away from startup. regarding the traffic speed warning, at the moment ,I haven't bothered to delve into it, although it can be annoying. (the salesman told me that the speed warning, could become mandatory in the future.) hope this helps Brian.
Betty44 Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 On my 2024 A3 Sportback the traffic sign speed warning also reverts to on so I turned the volume to the lowest setting which makes it nearly inaudible. Lane departure I switch off on every journey by pressing the end button on the indicator stalk for 5 seconds.

I would hope a future software update would enable a permanent switch off.
Solution tedter77 Posted October 23, 2024 Solution Posted October 23, 2024 (edited) Sadly there is no chance of a software update allowing a permanent switch off. All new cars sold from July 2024 onwards legally have to have these features enabled everytime you start the car thanks to the EU GSR2 regulations. I now have a routine of disabling stop/start, holding down the lane departure button for 3 seconds and going into the assist menu to disable the speed warning every time I start driving which ironically is a bit distracting. Expand ok thanks for that. I will just have to get into the routine of switching off these features every time I start a new journey.
