Electronic handbrake

I don't drive my A3 automatic regularly and often the brakes are locked on when I come to move it. Does anyone know if there is a way to leave the car in park without using the electronic handbrake. Seems that the handbrake comes on automatically when I put it in park.

Unfortunately I don't think there is as it'll automatically come on. Unless you deactivate it via vcds.
