Audi a3 09 keyob won't lock car and no buzzer warn lights on

I've had the car a couple of years now and the fob has never works there is power to the key fob it's registered to the car but it's only worked a couple of times in the couple of years I've had it the buzzer does not go off when the driver's door is open and the headlights are on and wondering if this is related I have to lock and unlock the car with the key in the door I have been told there's a pin in the ignition barrel that's not dropping but that's all I know I want to know if anyone can help with this

Have you had a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. Could be an issue with the driver's door module or the signal receiver.

Have you tried the spare key? Are the symptoms the same with that.
