AdamB142 Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Hi all, new member here, so thank you for allowing me to join this group. I've got a 70k 2018 RS5 and Ive enjoyed 2years of motoring bliss. However, a month or so ago I had the Sports Diff fault come up but it simply disappeared after restarting. The same thing occurred a week or so ago, but this time the engine management warning come on and it's stayed on. The car has gone into limp mode and has therefore not been driven since. A friend of mine has scanned for fault codes, and it appears to be an ambient temp sensor fault (I think it's the internal temp sensor) . Am I correct in assuming that this sensor simply needs replacing...? We checked the battery last night (as I've read similar acticles where a poor battery can cause these types of issues..?) but the battery is fine. Thank you so much for any response, and apologies if this has already been discussed (I couldnt find any thread for this issue)
cliffcoggin Posted October 31 Posted October 31 How did you check the battery? A simple voltage test will tell you nothing about the real condition of the battery. It needs a deep discharge test, (i.e. a load of more than 200 amps rather than the few milliamps of a multimeter,) to simulate real conditions and reveal internal faults. If your battery is original there is a fair chance it is defective and responsible for the faults you noted. 1
