Audi Q6-Etron Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Anyone know how to turn on speed camera alerts on the navigation of the Audi MMI?
Steve Q Posted November 2 Posted November 2 I don't think you can as it's illegal in the UK to have that feature I believe. It would have to be activated by coding as I appreciate other countries have different rules.
Audi Q6-Etron Posted November 2 Author Posted November 2 OK, thank you. My wife's Kia EV6 has it as standard. What about adding it to google maps?

Audi Q6-Etron Posted November 3 Author Posted November 3 (edited) Are speed camera detectors legal? Camera detectors are legal for use on UK roads. A few years ago there was talk that detectors with radar and laser detection may become illegal under proposed legislation, but this ban didn't take place - meaning that both laser/radar detectors and GPS safety cameras are still legal in the UK. I stand corrected. I thought the legislation came in.
Audi Q6-Etron Posted November 4 Author Posted November 4 No worries at all, would be good to be able to get them added, seen on the previous MMI you could but not seen on the latest version of the MMI which is annoying. Can not get Google to do it either.
cliffcoggin Posted November 4 Posted November 4 The simpler solution is to stay within the speed limit.

Its not the speed issue it is more a road where you have not travelled and the speed limit says 40mph on the sat nav but the road is only 30mph and has changed. The old way of telling has changed with recent changes to how roads speed limits are determined.
cliffcoggin Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Nothing has changed. The big red signs at the start of a restricted zone, and the smaller repeater sign within it, are still the only official indicators recognised by law. All one has to do is watch for them.

Not going to get into a he said she said situation but close to us they have changed. Some 40 now 30 some 30 now 20. Audi MMI shows wrong speeds. Edited November 4 by Audi Q6-Etron
SQ6_Steve Posted November 23 Posted November 23 I miss these in my Q6. My previous Range Rovers have had this standard for years and great reminders when on unfamiliar roads. I sure someone will work out how to load POI's via USB stick.

Magnet Posted November 23 Posted November 23 If only all speed limit signs were obvious! Favourite in these parts (where the cyclists overtake you in a 20mph zone) is to place the limit sign, just a few yards ahead of a roundabout, where your attention is ‘distracted’ by observing traffic movements on the roundabout. Kind regards, Gareth.
