Hello all!

I’ve recently moved and fairly urgently need a 4x4 due to the highly rural area I live in. As such, I’m going to be looking at a used 2015 plate Q3 diesel Quattro S-line in the next few days. It’s higher miles than I’d like (96k) but price seems good and it’s a well established garage. Anything I should be on the look for in terms of servicing etc?

Sight of a full service history would be essential to my mind, particularly as Quattros get thrashed more than most cars,

Following on from Gareth's advice, check for a Cambelt and water pump change, check to see proof of gearbox oil services and quattro system services.

Hello all! So sorry for not replying sooner, I had expected to receive a notification to say I had a reply but only just received one now to say I have been “warned”. Really sorry everyone.

i found the replies really helpful, and am viewing the Q3 this weekend. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for the follow up! Yes all good, they’re doing a full service before collection of the car. It’s very different to what I’m used to driving (a petrol bmw 228!), very noisy starters but that’s diesels for you eh.
hopefully collecting it in a few days all being well.

Sounds good Sian,

Take it you have actually seen copy of the computerised service  history, checked the on line MOT history, and when the last V5 was issued - ?
Good luck and enjoy.

Kind regards,

Gareth.

Yes checked the online bits before viewing it, and service bits when we viewed. All good!
