E Tron GT Brakes Hoses

Took my E Tron GT into a dealer last week to have the front brake hoses changed under a recall. ( also the internal heater module, both Porche parts !! ) Should have taken a day, got a call later in the day to say there was a problem with the hoses and they had to order more from Audi Germany.  Then told they are on back order and they have no idea when they will get them !!!  also took the dealer 2 days to tell me this.

Not sure i am smelling a rat here and something has happened to my car they do not want to tell me about !  has anyone heard of brake hoses being on back order and Audi unable to get them ?

E mailed Audi UK customer services but not getting a lot back from them !

thanks

A recall will undoubtedly mean many people are wanting those hoses at the same time so I am not surprised they are out stock, though sensible planning for the recall should have ensured enough were made available beforehand. Am I being unrealistic to expect common sense from Audi?

What i find hard to believe is the dealer told me the replacement hoses were faulty !!! and now cannot get any more.  Interested to know if anyone else has tried to take a GT in for hoses to be replaced and the dealer has has issues getting them ?

Hi Kevin

My E Tron GT went in for the same recall last week. Plus two computer upgrades.  Audi kept it for a week but they said the high voltage heater takes along time to replace, nothing regarding the brake hoses. Got it back last Saturday and I must admit that the brakes are a lot more positive now. I hope you get it resolved soon.

Thank you Tony,

Frustrating thing is they have had it a week, told me last Friday they needed more brake parts, service lad didn't seem to know a lot but said they were on back order and could take 2 weeks ( ish !!! )  was told a manager would call but nothing !  Audi UK said they would investigate but nothing from them for 3 days. poor service on a £90k car

They should have given you a courtesy car. Unless you are old like me.

Hi Cliff you are close but the facts are under TUV regulations the company that supplied the defective items are obliged to supply the non faulty parts for nothing to the producer of that vehicle, therefore the company that supplied the faulty item get beaten to death for it, so there are probably hundreds if not thousands of parts available in Europe but because of Audis spiteful policies toward the U.K. they procrastinate over sending parts as post Brexit they now qualify for higher import taxes, its not like they don't make quadruple the price for the parts by the time they reach the end user over here, I agree how can a ninety grand car thats almost new be so poorly supplied for parts, if you look at the bigger picture Audi as an alleged premium brand are going to lose a lot of customers via their parts prices and customer service, Ford are having the same problem with Puma manual gearboxes so you see queues of them in the yards of local dealers, its the Europeans being awkward, today I went to my local garage to order new brakes for my daughters car while I was down there a chap came in and wanted his four year old Range Rover scanned, turns out his auxiliary heater module had packed up so they ordered a new one from Land Rover twenty minutes later it turns up with made in UK stamped on it, apparently made in Wales, makes you think.

Steve.
