Hi most likely that the hose is old and not sealing properly, the oily mess is always present but you dont normally see it unless you have a slight boost leak in one of the pipes, the oil is from where the pcv vents in to the boost section and the valve itself will be on the rocker cover and will have a pipe that goes into the side somewhere below the throttle body so it transfers crank gasses into the induction via negative pressure, if you have a boost leak a lot of what comes out of the pcv falls down the pipe towards the intercooler.

Thanks Steve I had a look at the pipe today I don’t think it was fully seated in the intercooler I put a small bit of rtv around the gasket to aid in sealing and made sure it was in 100% i will give it a few days to see if it starts dripping again and take it from there

It’s very common. There’s a green rubber seal that sits on the inner part of the pipe. You can buy it from Audi for about £10 and isn’t hard to swap just have a look at the pipe as you take it off as it has a seat that it needs to meet up to and give it a clean with a cloth before fitting the new seal and putting back together.
