T_H_2004 Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Hello, I have a 2014 2.0 tdi A6 c7, I've done a dpf delete, new egr with cooler so far Issue with the car is there's lack of power and dark smoke from the exhaust when using any amount of throttle. Since replacing the egr there's now a grey smoke and smell of diesel. Mechanic has advised for injectors could be the issue I have which would need replacing at a high cost. He has advised this due to the smell of diesel and Injectors/engine block shaking too much when the engine is running. My question is before I replace the injectors which is quite costly are there any other parts to check before doing this job I also have suspicions that the DPf remap for the ecu was not done properly but several mechanics have advised that this won't fix the issue however does need doing. Car has now been off road a few weeks now so I would appreciate any help I can get with this issue Apologies if I am missing anything but if there is any info I've not included let me know and I will provide . Kind regards
Steve Q Posted November 15 Posted November 15 If the car hasn't had the remap to map out the dpf or egr then this could be the problem. Have you had a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up? Also the injectors can be sent off to be tested to see if any are faulty. Also have the injector seals been checked as a leaking injector seal can cause these symptoms. 1
T_H_2004 Posted Wednesday at 01:18 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 01:18 PM Hi mate, just installed new injectors last week and thats not sorted the issue with black smoke. the engine is running smoother but when driving there is black smoke and no power. also been advised by specialist that the map only prevents car from going into limp mode. my mechanic has now stated that the intercooler is broken and blocked and that this is the issue causing me this problem. thanks for your reply but do you think its worth spending the money on the intercooler as i am not sure anymore if this will solve the problem? Again many thanks
