NickDavenport
Hi everyone, we have an Audi A3 1.8t 1998 that needs a good home. It has an excellent engine, electric sunroof, leather heated seats that work etc. The only thing that doesn't work is the drivers door electric window. It runs beautifully, but we have 3 cars and I do not have the time to restore the car as it deserves. We are not looking for anything for this car, just a good home where he will be looked after as he deserves.
cliffcoggin
Are you really saying it is free?
NickDavenport
Hi, yes I am saying that, and it has an MOT until 31st May 2025. The only reason we are trying to home him is because I do not have time to restore him and we have 3 other cars so I also need the space. He has a lot of history from the day he was made, and we have had him 2 and a half years.
cliffcoggin
Book yourself a hospital appointment. There will a queue of people wanting to bite off your arm. <grin>
NickDavenport
I hope so, this is an honest advert and we just want the car to have a good home.
Magnet
Hello Nick, In my book, never, even ( in largest caps!) give this car away - as Cliff says. If you do, you will be potentially leaving your property open to be visited for any number of undesirables who may subsequently return to see whatever else they can releave you of for nothing! The same advice was given to me decades ago to pass to someone who had to re-home his dog - just don’t do it. If you want a good home, genuine people will pay to re - home it. If it were mine, I would be advertising it at at least scrap value, and see what materialises. With your sanction, I can suitably reword your advert - which I would seriously advise you to let me do for you, without delay. Kind regards, Gareth. Mar4ix
Put it eBay in auction, with starting of 1 pound. She will go. Not give anything free. People buy these cars mostly for projects. I'd love to have, but I am in Ireland , and to get it registered here will take thousands. Good luck with sales.
