HI, this is my 2nd post and iv tried my best to stay away from posting issues straight away. My A6 and i ave had a bad start to our relationship. Its a 2.5 v6 tdi on a 2001. owned for 3 weeks, already iv had the thermostat changed and water pump and front pulley timing etc, been in a nice side collison, which is held up well and is due for repair but still got little niggly fault whch im hoping you guys can help me with, both these faults existed before collision.

1. central locking has fits, mind of its down, sometimes will open, other times wont, sometimes will open all doors, other times only drivers, doesnt work on remote. if i put drivers window down the locks activate, also lights on light switch started flickering but now gone out. iv fitted a new convience module which was working great untill it came back from timing belt etc. all locks worked, coded key and for 2 weeks never had a issue.

2. airbag ecu is naff and need new one coded.

my biggest concern is getting central locking working.

also, some times when i close drivers door with lock no other door react, as iv its not got central locking. but when i turn key to open they all go up. iv not stripped it yet, gonna have a look this week. worrying cause when driving doors lock and wont open via handles, only drivers door, trapping passengers.

what baffles me is only drivers window switch activates locks, also on door the open door button doesnt work but lock does,

ive checked the lights on the doors go off when doors closed by pushing catch to lock position, no problems with interior lights etc.

thanks for reading,

Definatly have a fault with central locking system. Have you reset the ecu?

May need to replace the central locking device that controls all the doors if that doesnt work... or live with it.. sounds like a right pain though
