Lagos Boy Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Hiya I am trying to replace the Q7’s NAV DVD from its case in the trunk. When I press the eject button all I get is a flashing light but without the DVD being ejected. Any ideas that doesn’t involve going to the dealers? :)
Lagos Boy Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 Lol! Yes there is. Has been in there for a few months.
mark Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 My DVD isnt in the boot its in the dash. What age is your Q7?
Lagos Boy Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 Mine's a 2007 S-Line The DVD (for the SAT NAV) is near the spare wheel on the right hand side of the boot Separate from the 6 disc CD player in the dash
Glen Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 I'm sorry but I can't think of a way to get your disc out other than to take the whole thing apart and take it by hand. Had a similar issue with my old PS3 once and to this date still don't have my disc back. Then again the PS3 is ridiculously tough when being opened up and resorting to the hammer didn't work. So yeah, don't hit it with a hammer is my advice :) Glen.
Tech Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 The navigation eject button is disabled. This is set from factory as an anti theft protection mode (to stop the expensive DVD going missing from leaving factory to arriving at the Audi dealership). It simply needs enabling by changing an adaption channel in the unit. A five minuet job for an Audi dealer. DO NOT STRIP THE UNIT!
Lagos Boy Posted February 17, 2013 Author Posted February 17, 2013 Thanks Tech I'll put the small red screw driver away then. Blasted thing almost led me into a ditch last week.
Glen Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Sorry my advice wasn't brilliant. Thing with following those sat navs instructions is that you have to keep more than half a brain awake so that it doesn't lead you into a ditch. Glen.

Even better idea fine a vag.com diagnostic garage near you. Always use someone other than Audi as they charge you $100 just to open the door.
Tech Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Not quite true, I work for one of the countries largest Audi dealers, and we do a hell of a lot of work for free actually. We wouldn't even dream of charging for something like that, which should really have been done on the pre delivery inspection anyway! Tech
