Fuel flat won't open

Hi everyone first post for a new member. 

Anyone know how to overcome a fuel flap that won't open on my A6 Avant ? I have had this happen twice, first time was 5-6 months ago and I found the fix in the owners manual. The flap has got stuck again and the plastic manual pull has snapped and I am up the proverbial creek. Any help gratefully appreciated.

We don’t like doing this, but it has not been uncommon of late that posters either don’t react to suggestions made, or simply just don’t return - a bit like asking a question and walking away! 

We do try to prompt members in this situation, but again seldom get a response until the warning is issued - then we seldom don’t get a reaction!
