dear cliffnoggin...is see you are a very experienced technician with a vast amount off knowledge in chassis and engineering .. im am a lowly 30 year mechanic of automobiles, if as you say the chassis has indeed been bent why when measured on a four wheel alignment computer, why would it not show up...besides i know the full history of the car.. the car is running lower than its standard ride height causing the camber angle to be increased to much wearing the insides of the tyres all i need is some adjustable eccentric bolts ... but i thank you very much for your comment..

As it's running low ride height, it might be worth picking up a copy of performance VW etc to see if there are any suspension specialists. I have also found these:

Fair enough, but why not say so from the start. The forum name you have chosen for yourself is bound to raise suspicion.

so one is assuming that a name denotes the person...

Thanks Ian, but this has the potential for becoming like a game of tennis, so perhaps worth drawing a line under the current theme.

Anyway, back to your issue :- If as you say, you need eccentric bolts to return the camber to what it should be, and it’s currently out of limits because the ride height is low, my logic would point towards returning the ride height to what it should be.

If you don’t want to do that, then - unless you know better - you maybe left with the prospect of getting bolts made at a machine shop - with due respect to correct tensile strength etc.

Not sure if this will be of any help, but I think the lower rear suspension wishbone on the A3 has eccentric bolts at the wheel end. Sizes?? But maybe worth some homework.
Let us know how you get on Ian.
Kind regards,

Gareth.

Hi if you are as knowledgable as you claim you would know that the existing bolts on the front can be altered, or buy a new set from Audi, I know for a fact that you can't obtain any camber adjustment from the front subframe as the mountings are set in their protocols at the factory with a floating jig that positions the subframe precisely + or - two millimetres then the two diametrically opposed bolts are locked in and the jig is removed then the last two bolts are placed and tightened, if the car was on a hunter four wheel alignment unit your camber problem would have flagged up straight away, the local garage I use has this and I have watched them set many vehicles and if the car has been lowered nine times out of ten the operator declares that no suitable camber can be achieved because the lowering has taken any range adjustment out of limits, which I think is the problem you have, therefore it may well serve you better to contact any of the people Steve Q suggested and give them your range data as they may well have a bolt to suit your problem.

Steve.
