Crin Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 My Bluetooth stopped working a few weeks ago and I haven't been able to get it working again. Took it to the dealership today and was told the Control Module has died and I need a new one. That'll cost £3000. Needless to say that's like a third of the value of the car so I don't think it's really an option haha. Has anyone heard of this happening in a C7 and maybe has a fix that doesn't require a new Control Module? Cheers.
Steve Q Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 I'd recommend a second opinion from an Audi independent specialist. If you can get the part number id recommend you source a 2nd hand part, on sites such as eBay including international sellers. 2

I've had a look and you can get these parts second hand for like £100-£200... Crazy! Would you happen to know if there's some coding to the car that would need to be done? Basically thinking about the part that detects your key is in the car for keyless ignition. Thanks for your help! Alternatively, what about buying a second hand unit and taking the Bluetooth chip out and just replacing that bit...? I'm going to do some searching on that lol Thanks again
Steve Q Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 You're welcome. Exactly! The Bluetooth module might need coding but I'm not sure.
Magnet Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 Be aware too when buying secondhand Adam - you could be buying your own! If it were mine, I would follow Steve’s advice and get a second opinion on this, before committing to purchasing anything. Kind regards, Gareth.

I've asked if any one has had a similar experience in multiple places and I haven't come across anyone so that gives me some confidence it might be a one off. But yes, I will take it to a place near me for a second opinion. Thanks for your concern. 1
Caffrey Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I have the same sort of problem. For no apparent reason the bluetooth has become intermittent, it constantly drops out and then reconnects. The advice from the phone company is to completely remove all devices connected via bluetooth and reset the system in the car and phone. I'll see how it goes. On the same subject, has anyone connected their 2016 MMI to Google play and if so how - Audi want a small forntune for either a cable or a memory card.

You'll need a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up
