mt1982sheff Posted Friday at 01:46 PM Posted Friday at 01:46 PM Hi all, Picked up a 71 reg A4 black edition yesterday, all good apart from the sat nav is stuck on the 'initiallising' screen. Is this something which has to be paid for through a subscription with Audi or does it just need an update? Thanks in advance!
cliffcoggin Posted Friday at 03:53 PM Posted Friday at 03:53 PM Did you purchase privately or from a dealer?
mt1982sheff Posted Friday at 05:58 PM Author Posted Friday at 05:58 PM Hi, purchased the car from Motorpoint
cliffcoggin Posted Friday at 06:39 PM Posted Friday at 06:39 PM Assuming Motorpoint counts as a dealer, take it back for the company to sort out at no cost to you.
Steve Q Posted Friday at 08:53 PM Posted Friday at 08:53 PM Definitely get it back to Motorpoint to fix. You could try the mmi reset first to see if that fixes it.
mt1982sheff Posted Friday at 08:59 PM Author Posted Friday at 08:59 PM Thanks both for the replies, much appreciated. Spoke to Motorpoint and they said I need to speak to Audi, they didn't list it with Sat Nav (i didn't check if nav worked - just drove the car and was happy with it) so my fault there! Annoyed as it never even crossed my mind that sat nav wouldn't be included in a 71 reg A4.....you live and learn I suppose! Called Audi and they said we can help......you just need to subscribe to the Audi connect service for it to work!! Tried MMI reset and still no luck 😕 Not a major issue as Android Auto works, just grates on me that I've bought a decent car but basic things like the inbuilt sat nav aren't working
Steve Q Posted Friday at 10:52 PM Posted Friday at 10:52 PM Ah if you need a subscription that won't be cheap.
mt1982sheff Posted Friday at 10:56 PM Author Posted Friday at 10:56 PM Audi said £160/yr 😪 takes the pi$$ that basic functions like sat nav are stuck behind a pay wall. On the plus side loving driving the car - changed from a Ford Ranger so a bit different but well happy so far. Looks like it's Android Auto from here on 🤣
