Diesel Fuel Pump

Hi, first post on the forum. Could anyone please tell me what the pictured part is called and what make the fuel pump is. It appears to be leaking diesel from behind the black box. I am hoping I can just change the seal. If this is possible a link to the seal need would be great and where to purchase the tool for the 3 sided fitting. Thanks for any help in advance.

Hi Mark,

Do you have a clearer pic - or can you copy the part number (which appears to be embossed in the oblong recess) please? Once we can identify the part number, options should be easy to find.

Thank you from what I can make out the part number is  2 464 483 268. I have attached another image showing more of the pump and where the it looks the leak is coming from.

Looks like the high pressure fuel pump.

Hi Mark,

Going from the Reg nuber you DMed me, it looks like the pump is 028 130 115M
There is a VW service kit 038 198 051D, which is suitable.

He says a Bosch seal kit is available from Autodoc for just over £12.

Thanks Mike that is very helpful. I'm hoping to just change the top two large seals with the pump in situ. I haven't got the space or skill to take the whole pump out. 

It never rain but it pours. After much struggling I mananaged to change the serpentine belt, tensioner and alternator overrun pulley. Less than a week later the coolant pump to thermostat hose has burst. I've managed to find a new hose but I wanted to changed the short hose next to it at the same time. Any ide what is called? It is no 4 in the attachment.
