MarkSays Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Hello! I am new to this forum so apologies if this is posted in the wrong section. I have done some servicing work on my 2015 (65 plate) Audi A3 8V 1.6TDI yesterday. Part of this service involved replacing my leaking injector seals and rocker cover gasket. I completed the job, injectors looked mint when they came out, just a tiny bit sooty but that wiped up fine. Injector seals all replaced, rocker cover gasket replaced. All re-fitted. All fuel lines, return lines and electrical connections re connected, and all connectors labelled before removals as well as injectors to ensure they went in the same place. However, on the first fire up. The car initially ran on all 4 cylinders for around 10 seconds before the engine knocked and shut off. Which is fairly typical when breaking into the fuel system, as the same had happened when I changed my fuel filter a few months back. On the next start ups, the car now only runs on Cylinders 1 and 3. With 2 and 4 not firing. Unplugging injectors 2 and 4 has no change to the engine running condition, but only then throws an injector code if you unplug them. So far I have tried bleeding the fuel rail multiple times and everything seems well bled. I even attempted swapping Injectors 1 and 2 over. This still resulted in Cylinder 1 firing and Cylinder 2 not, which leads me to believe this is not an injector failure. Any help or advice at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Mark S
