Hi from a newbie. Can someone please tell me wherebis the Adblue (/DEF/SCR) injector? Having all sorts of issues with Adblue so wanted to check the injector to see if it's leaking or whatever.

I'm getting through about 10 litres of Adblue a week (!) so I'm assuming there's either a major leak somewhere or the injector's stuck open with crystallised Adblue. Can't see any obvious leaks under the car so it's more likely the latter I'd think.

Getting engine P20E8 faults, Adblue low level warnings etc. I keep clearing the codes, SCR lock and level with VCDS after topping up. It only makes the errors go away for a few days at most each time.

I've been Googling forever and can't find any relevant info about where it is. Most relate to non Euro 6 versions which I guess don't have Adblue systems (?). All I know is that it's apparently somewhere in between the cat and dpf (wherever they are!).

Pleeeeease someone clue me in before I go nuts! Can't afford to take it to a dealer and no warranty left.

Any help much appreciated. Thanks!

If it helps, here's an overhead pic of my engine bay...

Search the rest of these forums and you will find that Adblu systems are becoming notorious for the problems they create and the cost of fixing them. You will also find possible solutions.

Thanks for the advice but the more I've searched (incl. here) the more my head spins! So much conflicting info out there. That's why I posted the question here.

I really don't want to go down the route of expensive (and often futile) replacement parts like a new tank, pump, module etc.

Would you happen to know where the injector is please? Then I can check that out for a start, along with the metering line etc. Thanks.

I have no idea where it is. Fortunately my Audi was from before the advent of Adblue so I never had to concern myself with it, and my little knowledge of the matter comes from these forums.

Essentially the system is known to become clogged with crystals. You will have to search for the information yourself on how to deal with it, or wait for somebody more knowledgeable such as Stevey Y for detailed information.

Your other option is to have a remap which can blank out the adblue system.

Yes thanks, I was aware of that. But it's a last resort as I'd rather stay legal. Also, I'm not confident that wouldn't bring on other problems later, like no more DPF regens, failed MOTs (if/when they can eventually test for deletes).

Mind you, I'm very close to having the delete. This whole Adblue rubbish is ridiculous. I've read countless posts about where the various problems might be, many by people who've wasted thousands trying to get it fixed. It seems no-one really knows all the answers, just ever more theories (including from the manufacturers & dealers!).

If I still can't get the answer to exactly where the injector is on this car I'll just give up and go ahead with the delete. Enough is enough!
