Dipstick tube on A6 C8 Avant

Hi all,

new(ish) Audi owner here. I wanted to do an oil change on my A6 Avant 2.0 TDi 40 and understand there *may* be a dipstick tube hidden in there somewhere with a bung sealing it closed. I have an EWK oil extractor & don’t fancy jacking the car and taking out all those screws. Does anyone know where the tube is, I’’ve had a look & saw the US petrol ones have this? Any help appreciated, photos would be better. Thanks in advance

Hi pull the engine cover off and the tube is about half way down on the right you can't miss it as it has a loop fitting on the top, to remove it twist and pull.

Ya wee dancer.  I can’t believe you solved that one so fast. I spent longer than I care to admit looking for it with a torch. Much higher up and more accessible than I assumed. Well done, thanks

I marked it as solved, not the same or better?

No, Dave not the same ( or better). Just think about it - what you have said is that it has been ‘Solved’ , but you’re not attributing that solution to Steve’s experience and kind response, so please just mark his solution post as ‘Liked’ - it is what should automatically follow and shows your appreciation.
Didn’t think we would need to ask, but….
Thank you.
