Hey  guys new to this forum. I just bought an s3 2017. Was checking the engine there and noticed some staining at back of it near the inlet of turbo. Attached. Video. Just wondering if this is anything to be concerned about. It does have a stage 1 remap 360bhp without any extra mods.  Notice in the video the engine has just been switched of and there’s still some sort of noise coming from it. Maybe I’m just paranoid as new car but it’s has a 12 month warrenty so would like to get it looked at if anything concerning. Thanks. James

That doesn't look to good, is it a standard remap? Or is it a unique remap?

Standard plug and play. I’ve had no issues since I posted the video. Oil and coolant temps fine and launches on average 4.1-4-4.5 secs. Just got the gearbox and haldex serviced and mechanic had a look over it aswell. Couldn’t find anything wrong. I am thinking of getting it on a dyno to get it mapped properly tho

Mine makes all sorts of odd clunks and whirrs when I switch it off. I think it says in the handbook that it's normal.

Are you having rolling road remap or off the shelf?

i'm very keen to do it myself but am considering upgrading the exhaust after the PPF first.

I had mine done at the house ecu remap. It’s quicker but I’m regretting that decision now to save a few quid. I’m planning to book it in for a dyno map and dsg soon as after the house map I fitted a res delete and R600 performance air intake.

It's probably a good idea. If the car was mapped with a stock exhaust and is now breathing differently it may have an adverse effect on the performance.

Plus you'll be able to squeeze a few extra hp out if it. 😃

Motorsport and performance in batley, they don't do off the shelf maps, every map is unique to your car. It's £699.99 so it's gonna be right.

I’m in Northern Ireland so best place to go is torque troniques. Quoted me 480 for map and dsg. I need it done tho as before I fitted the res delete and r600 intake I got a 0-60 in 4.09 secs. Now I’d be lucky to get a 4.6.

I've just had my car on the dyno, should be 306bhp stock, well it's 318bhp stock, now tuned 370bhp, it's a monster.

How do you find the res delete? I have a neighbour opposite with a V8 Merc and the one next door has a C43 so I'm unlikely to get noise complaints but just wondered if it would be too much for a daily drive.

When I first got it I was a bit unsure. It defiantly made a noticeable difference to the noise and when in dynamic and S for gearbox it never shuts up. Cold start sounds amazing ( not as good as a v8 )there is a drone in cabin at 3 thousand revs. If you’re out for proper drive u will love it. But if your just going for a drive then stick it in E let of the gas when coming up to 3k revs and it just goes up the gears so doesn’t make much drone. And on motorway at 70 is fine. And if u hate it just take it off again. Doesn’t cost a fortune I’ve my middle box in garage
