SJDux97 Posted Saturday at 04:29 PM Posted Saturday at 04:29 PM Hi, I have a A4 Avant 2005 S LineB7 and I am looking to upgrade my steering wheel from the standard to one with multifunction use with the volume and radio control, I have the concert radio, the one I will be replacing it with is a genuine Audi wheel I am just wondering is it as simple as plug and play or is there a wiring loom requirement? Thanks
cliffcoggin Posted Saturday at 04:57 PM Posted Saturday at 04:57 PM Sam. It is very possible that your car's wiring loom will not have the appropriate wires and connectors for the wheel you want to use. Unless somebody can confirm otherwise you should visually check that such connections do exist before buying a new wheel. 1
SJDux97 Posted Saturday at 05:03 PM Author Posted Saturday at 05:03 PM Cheers Cliff, appreciate the advice. I will have a look at the existing connectors before continuing. Sam
Steve Q Posted Saturday at 07:14 PM Posted Saturday at 07:14 PM You'll need additional wiring look, the matching clock spring with the new wheel and for it to be coded to the car.
SJDux97 Posted Saturday at 11:49 PM Author Posted Saturday at 11:49 PM Thanks for the advice Steve, would you happen to know if this is just a wiring loom for the wheel or whether it would need a new loom connecting to the radio? I'm quite new to Audi
