Lidunian Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Hi. 1999 Audi A4 B5 1.8 petrol Avant. Had to remove the air bag to replace the indicator stalk. Now the air bag warning light stays on. I've double checked the wiring but everything was put back as it should be. Got an MoT next week and don't want to fail because of this. Is there anything I should be doing to get this light to go out? Please.
Steve Q Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Could there be an issue with the click spring on the steering wheel? Not sure if it would affect the airbag or not
Lidunian Posted January 5 Author Posted January 5 Thanks for the reply, Steve, but not sure what you mean by click spring.
Steve Q Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Sorry I meant clock spring. It's parts of the steering wheel

coupe4 Posted January 6 Posted January 6 i think you need to plug in the car and reset the light, thats the way it works on my 1995 coupe.Greg
Lidunian Posted January 8 Author Posted January 8 Thanks, folks. I'll get the garage to try resetting it. I'm old school, never thought about plugging in a computer to turn warning lights off. Just assumed no fault = no light! I'll let you know how they get on.
MdotsWorld17 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Just a heads up I took my 1999 a4 1.8t QS to Audi in Oxford and they have mine booked in for a recall for the airbags, and the gas generation system on the airbags so would ring your local Audi dealer to check if yours is in the batch as well
