Gary100 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I am thinking of buying an Audi Q5 but the recent mot has a list of major defects would you say this list is something to be concerned about Engine MIL inoperative or indicates a malfunction (8.2.1.2 (h)) Anti-lock braking system warning lamp indicates an ABS fault (1.6 (b)) Electronic braking system warning device indicates a fault brake warning lamp on display (1.7 (b)) Electronic stability control warning lamp indicates a fault (7.12 (e)) Supplementary restraint system warning lamp indicates a fault (7.1.6 (a))
Steve Q Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Yes, I'd avoid it! You have to ask why the current owner is selling it, maybe it's not cheap to fix. Has it been in a crash?
Gary100 Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 Thanks for the reply, the car is actually been sold by a garage where I live, they have obviously got it in as a trade in. I think that is my worry that with all these issues on the last mot that I can potentially be the start of more issues with the car, as far as I know it hasn’t been in a crash and also the garage haven’t as of yet put a new mot on the car
cliffcoggin Posted January 12 Posted January 12 In that case it would be wise to wait until the garage have issued a new MOT certificate, and then re-assess the car.
spartacus 68 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 A scan with VCDS will reveal what it is. Could just be a wheel speed sensor - this tends to throw up various errors.
