LucyB Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Hopeless. Can't get any clear information out of anyone, least of all the guy who thinks he's going to sell me the car (a dealer). So guess what? I'm not going to buy it but how true is it that most post 2020 A3 S line hatchbacks are mild hybrids and what does that even mean? I want a car that will drive 300 miles up a motorway relatively cheaply. Wouldn't the hybrid (when such a mild one) make that more expensive and the electronics of the car even more compicated and expensive to fix? Are they all mild hybrids?
Solution Steve Q Posted January 14 Solution Posted January 14 Most of the time the car will just be carting the electric motors about which are very heavy. Yi want economy I'd ha eBay diesel version personally.
cliffcoggin Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I'd agree with Steve that the cheapest long distance motoring will be provided by a diesel, but bear in mind when you choose a car the big changes to Vehicle Excise Duty that are coming in April. I would go further and say that hybrids are an awful compromise between liquid fuel and electric. Choose one or the other.
