beno148 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Hi all, I had a battery test done when refilling the aircon recently and showing 20%. I had notice it took a while to turn over when cold and first start up recently. Im looking to DYI replace the battery. Looking around ive seen things about keeping the car connected at the front to battery or similar to keep codes? Also battery recoding? What do i need to be aware of and be doing when replacing the battery in the boot. Also does anyone have good recommendations for a replacemwnt battery? Ive searched online using reg but the measurements seem slightly bigger than what ive measured so want to be 100% before i get one delivered. Was also debating disconnecting battery temp to measure out of the car assuming this wont cause any code issues? TIA Ben
cliffcoggin Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) Ben. Get a good quality battery such as Varta, Exide etc, not one of the cheap ones which will let you down in short order. Ensure you code it the car using something like OBD11 and the like. This explains how and why the coding is done, albeit with a different gadget: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDeewdrTmX0&t=1s Edited 4 hours ago by cliffcoggin omission
beno148 Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago Thanks for the reply so i was looking between a varta or a Yuasa both similar priced about £120. Ive just watched the video on coding and why. I havent got something to do that but will either look at getting one or seeing if someone local has one. Thanks Ben
