garethjj Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago I'm having problems with my steering wheel the lights and functions no longer work. I think the steering wheel was taken off to have the angle sensor replaced but l don't think the battery was disconnected it did work fine but not sure about the battery not being disconnected only asking as l have been told it's possible. Any help would be great.
Sid2020 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Steering angle sensor usually comes as a complete unit with the storks and the multi function steering wheel and airbag plug into it. Has the correct part number been fitted as quite a lot or variables. Has the coding been done correct. Have they crushed the loom inside the steering wheel when reinstalling the airbag. Anyone that replaces this without disconnecting the battery shouldn’t be allowed near a car and are lucky not to be picking there teeth out of the airbag. 1
garethjj Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago The right part was ordered and fitted I was told that it could not be coded due to it not being new from Audi I have been told that is not true is there a fuse I could check for the steering wheel or do I need to get all new?the storks work fine it's just the multi-function that dose not work. Thanks for the helpsid 2020
Sid2020 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago If it’s second hand then they have component protection on them as tried several years ago to use a second hand one. I think the only Real option is either get a garage to remove component protection and recode it or new from Audi and code it in. Ain’t sure about a individual fuse for multi function wheel
