Glen07 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Hi guys. im wondering if anyone can help? so I own a 2013 a3 8v 2.0 tdi sportback. I’ve found a crack within my front subframe and looking to replace. When replacing the subframe, I know I’m guna need one from the same mk, but does it need to be off the same yr too? Or am I good just working off the same mk? Also, does it need to be from a sportback (5door) or can I also look at ones the fit the hatchback (3door). any help would be great! cheers guys.
spartacus 68 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Can’t answer your question directly, but having looked at subframes the part number will only be visible one you drop it. Chances are it will have been revised (last letter) an over the model production. Look on LLL Parts to cross reference. You’ll need new subframe bolts.
Steve Q Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Usually you'll need one from same body type and engine type. So ideally from an A3 similar year and Engine
Magnet Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Try IM Axles - as per my suggestion to good effect on similar question a month or so ago. Is this fracture in the actual subframe, or a suspension link?
Glen07 Posted February 3 Author Posted February 3 Think I’ve sourced one from eBay now guys. Thanks for your input. Yeah it took a big hit. Hidden dips are a nightmare at speed at they 😂😂 totally bottomed out and cracked as a result.
