daveyboy1967 Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Hi all, I'm replacing the CCM thanks to the old water in the footwell problem which I've now solved thanks to the advice I found on here. I realised what the problem was due to the key fobs not working and the soaking wet carpet. I have a few other minor but annoying electrical issues and I was wondering if they might be related to the CCM too. So my question is this, does anyone have a definitive list of what functions the CCM actually controls? Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.
Steve Q Posted February 11 Posted February 11 They control windows too. You need a replacement ccm with the exact same part number.聽 Might be worth to see if yours can be dried out.聽 1

I just want to swap it out for a known and tested good unit in one go. I'll try to salvage my old one when it's out of the car and if I can save it I'll stick it on eBay once it's serviceable.
daveyboy1967 Posted March 7 Author Posted March 7 I've found a replacement CCM, should be here in 2-3 days. Bit of a bargain too, 拢65 including delivery. It's supposedly working perfectly but I'll let you know when I've had a chance to fit it.
Steve Q Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Fingers crossed for you 馃 I'm assuming it has the exact same part number聽

daveyboy1967 Posted March 9 Author Posted March 9 Quick question Steve, I noticed on another thread you were talking about relocating the CCM to the glovebox. Did you ever get around to it and do you know if it's a big job? I'm guessing it would involve splicing in longer wiring?

Not done it yet as the A6 is still off the road but I'm planning this once the rebuild starts.聽 1
daveyboy1967 Posted March 13 Author Posted March 13 Changed The CCM this afternoon and reprogrammed both key fobs... winner winner chicken dinner! Feeling quite pleased with myself. I'd already sorted the water ingress so that should be fine now, the old CCM definitely didn't look happy sat in it's puddle. Two more jobs to take care of, broken wires in the passenger A pillar loom, and driver's window regulator. Off work until Sunday so I'm hoping for a couple of dry days. 1
daveyboy1967 Posted March 14 Author Posted March 14 Window regulator done now. I'll start a new thread and attach a link to the best YouTube video I found, very clear instructions and tells you what Torx bits and rivet sizes you need. I'll do likewise for the key reprogramming too, worked first time for me and again, very clear instructions. Just the broken wires in the passenger A pillar loom to sort now which I've got to admit I'm really not looking forward to.

Did all my checking and testing and not a broken wire to be found. After a lot of internet searching it's looking like a faulty NS front (possibly rear too) passenger door actuator, seems like a door close sensor issue. I have a new one arriving for the front tomorrow and as I'm on nights now for a couple of shifts I may be able to fit it in the afternoon. As ever I'll let you know how I get on, hope it's not getting boring!
