Anton8 Posted Thursday at 10:23 PM Posted Thursday at 10:23 PM I been having trouble with the keyless entry for a couple of weeks, now it has packed up altogether. I can only open the car using the key, also the foot actuated boot release is not working. Probably same cause. Also I can't keep the offside charge flap closed. It will close if I hold it shut and lock the car but as soon as I open the car again the charge flap opens. Also Audi didn't delete the last recall from the MMI so it keeps telling me to get it done. So all these bits are driving me crazy. Booked it in now to Audi S.E. before anything else crops up.
Steve Q Posted Saturday at 08:07 AM Posted Saturday at 08:07 AM Sorry to hear this buddy, it's certainly annoying. Keep us posted how you get on
Anton8 Posted Saturday at 08:21 AM Author Posted Saturday at 08:21 AM Got some thing else now. I did a fairly long run yesterday approx 70 miles, this morning I have "Low Battery Charge. Will Charge when driving" This isn't the traction battery as I have 170 miles in that, it must be the 12 volt system.
cliffcoggin Posted Saturday at 11:48 AM Posted Saturday at 11:48 AM Tony. Are you aware that electric cars do not have alternators to charge the auxilliary battery? Instead they have solid state DC/DC convertors (400 volt to 12 volt,) which have a reputation for failing. Maybe yours is faulty.
Anton8 Posted Saturday at 02:06 PM Author Posted Saturday at 02:06 PM Yes, I did know that. I was wondering if that was the cause of these electrical gremlins. It is going into Audi shortly to to get sorted.
cliffcoggin Posted Saturday at 02:33 PM Posted Saturday at 02:33 PM Do please let us know the outcome as I have heard the convertors (or should that be invertors,) are expensive.
Anton8 Posted Saturday at 02:39 PM Author Posted Saturday at 02:39 PM I will. The worrying thing is Cliff that next year all these gremlins and bits become mine when the warranty expires.
Anton8 Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago I really don't know what to make of my car. I threatened it with the sack and it has self healed itself. Everything is back working again.
cliffcoggin Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago If threats fail Tony, try beating it severely with a rose bush. It didn't work for John Cleese, but you might just be lucky. Nevertheless I'd still take it in for testing.
Anton8 Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago I think it needs putting on their computer in case there is something amiss. It goes in on the 11th March. At least it will get a free valet.
