Garyblue Posted February 19 Posted February 19 (edited) Just acquired a 2012 2.0 td with stronic automatic gearbox. Runs great BUT after about 10 miles at 60-70 mph there is a shudder from the front passenger side. If I slow to 50 it stops but comes back at 60. Then, when I brake it shudders. The odd thing is these symptoms never appear at any other time, only on a run. Mileage is 77,000, I have fhs and gearbox last had an recent oil service 51,000 miles. Im thinking bearing, or brakes. Would appreciate opinions. Edited February 19 by Garyblue Update
cliffcoggin Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Have you eliminated wheel balance and tyre wear as a first step? If so, I agree bearings or brakes are most likely, but don't dismiss CV, steering, and suspension joints as possible causes.
Garyblue Posted February 19 Author Posted February 19 At someone's suggestion, I felt the disc, it was hot compared to the other side. I suspect caliper or bearing, will get it checked.
Solution Magnet Posted February 20 Solution Posted February 20 Sticky caliper piston/s sounds more probable.
Garyblue Posted February 26 Author Posted February 26 Was a sticky caliper, replaced along with worn discs and pads, now drives beautifully.
