SHUDDER FROM TRANSMISSION

Just acquired a 2012 2.0 td with stronic automatic gearbox. Runs great BUT after about 10 miles at 60-70 mph there is a shudder from the front passenger side. If I slow to 50 it stops but comes back at 60. Then, when I brake it shudders. The odd thing is these symptoms never appear at any other time, only on a run. Mileage is 77,000, I have fhs and gearbox last had an recent oil service 51,000 miles. Im thinking bearing, or brakes. Would appreciate opinions.

Have you eliminated wheel balance and tyre wear as a first step? If so, I agree bearings or brakes are most likely, but don't dismiss CV, steering, and suspension joints as possible causes.

At someone's suggestion, I felt the disc, it was hot compared to the other side. I suspect caliper or bearing, will get it checked.

Sticky caliper piston/s sounds more probable.

Was a sticky caliper, replaced along with worn discs and pads, now drives beautifully.
