Paul ayton Posted Thursday at 07:22 PM Posted Thursday at 07:22 PM Good evening all, I have an issue with my 2007 (56 plate) A6 C6 2.4l Quattro, petrol. As of two nights ago my boot lid has stopped unlocking with the rest of the doors via the central locking, both on the fob or on the unlock button on the drivers door. The boot catch does however open when you hold the boot lid button on the fob. My question is has anyone else suffered this issue and if so what was the solution. If not does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be the issue? I’d very much appreciate any advice or suggestions. paul
Magnet Posted Thursday at 08:03 PM Posted Thursday at 08:03 PM Hello Paul, My similar era humble A3 has started to behave in a similar fashion, although mine will unlock via. the door switch - but very hit and miss with the fob. I’m considering renewing the lock assembly with a cheap aftermarket one from eBay - as a trial. Kind regards, Gareth.
Paul ayton Posted Thursday at 08:42 PM Author Posted Thursday at 08:42 PM Hello magnet, thanks for the reply. I can’t understand how the boot will open every time from the fob but is permanently locked whether the car is locked or unlocked. I will admit I. Not the most mechanically minded person, I can turn my hand to most but the issue is knowing where to start so limiting the amount of time and money I throw at it. Hopefully it is a simple fix. Thanks for your imput. kind regards paul

I'm considering getting a cheap one from eBay as mine only shuts if I slam the boot, otherwise it does not engage. Apologies for hijacking the tread as this does not answer the original question in any way.
